Townships/Zoning

Townships

Crawford County is divided into 16 townships, each of which is governed by three trustees and a fiscal officer who are elected to four-year terms.  These township officials provide services to their residents such as maintenance of township roadways, emergency fire/medical protection, cemetery maintenance, and more.

Zoning Inspection

Cities, most incorporated villages, and some townships in Crawford County have zoning regulations in place, in order to reduce or prevent interference with existing uses in a certain area that could be caused by new development in that area.  These zoned areas have either a department or an individual that handles zoning inspection for each area.
